Our company was founded in 1924 as a sole proprietorship named Yamamoto Shokai, engaged in the import and sales of German machine tools.
Over the years, the company underwent several name changes—from Yamamoto Kogyo Co., Ltd. to Koganei Manufacturing Co., Ltd.—while its business focus evolved from import trading to the manufacturing of precision cutting tools and centralized lubrication systems.

In 1964, we launched what is now our core business: the manufacturing and sales of pneumatic equipment.
At the time, our management held a strong vision to bring original, in-house branded products to market. Through thorough market research, we identified a growing demand within Japanese industry for automation and labor-saving solutions aimed at achieving higher production efficiency.

Recognizing the potential of pneumatic equipment—such as air valves and air cylinders, which were considered innovative at the time—we took decisive action.
To complement our technological capabilities, we entered into a technical partnership with Humphrey Products Company of the United States for air valve technology. This collaboration marked the true beginning of our journey as a pneumatic equipment manufacturer.
